Chronic kidney
disease
Chronic kidney disease indicates a gradual loss of kidney function. The primary function of kidneys is to filter wastes and excess fluids
from the blood. When chronic kidney disease reaches an advanced stage,
dangerous levels of fluid, electrolytes and wastes can build up in your body.
In the early stages of CKD, very few symptoms manifest
themselves. Chronic kidney disease may not become apparent until your kidney function is significantly impaired.
Treatment for CKD focuses on slowing the progression of the
kidney damage, by keeping the underlying cause in control. CKD can progress to
end-stage kidney failure, which can be fatal without a kidney transplant or
dialysis

Stages of Chronic kidney disease
There are five stages of CKD
This stage depends on the function of the kidney and how it
filters waste and extra fluid out of the blood.
Chronic kidney disease is measured in GFR(Glomerular
filtration rate) specifically, it tells the quantity blood passes through the
glomeruli each minute. Glomeruli in kidney filter waste from the blood.
